Looking at the design education of engineering industry in our country at present, from the face of it, the teaching system, training direction, and curriculum are all based on the characteristics of engineering students. Students are highly qualified in accordance with their aptitude, and the students they cultivate are still eye-low in aesthetics. Regardless of whether it is a student or an undergraduate student, a lot of feedback shows that the existence of this situation has become a problem that must be solved in the design education of the engineering industry.

I. Functions of Industrial Design Education in China

The origin of the functional problems faced by China's industrial design education is the functional problems faced by our country's education. Similarly, intellectuals, in foreign countries, are much larger in number than in China (developed countries). They are scattered in many fields and do not belong to special classes, but they form a special class of intellectuals in China. The reason lies in the education function at home and abroad. s difference.

Tertiary education is divided into two levels: universal education and training of high-level professionals.

This is also true of industrial design education. The largest proportion of foreign countries is universal industrial design education. Therefore, its teaching system must also be commensurate with it, while our country is different. In recent years, the vast majority of industrial design education systems implemented have been introduced. Mostly evolved from the Bauhaus system, it is more typical of the popular type. However, we have neglected the most important point in the implementation process, that is, most of the institutions in our country are trained as professional personnel. This is not only the reason for the formation of a special class of intellectuals, but also the crux of the problems in China's industrial design education. It is precisely because of the special nature of the educational function that the special education has formed, and the particularity of the teacher-student concept has been formed. Of course, this is not the inevitable outcome of education in New China, but the immortality of the concept of feudal society in the modern people's consciousness and education mechanism.

In fact, the university is only a stop in life, and it should not be used as the dividing line between high and low. The function of university education is to train students' thinking ability in their comprehensive thinking, not just the technical thinking ability. This is determined by the nature of the university itself.

The college period is the transitional period when students enter middle school from the middle school, and it is the period when the world outlook really matures. Students are only a few years in college, but after graduating, they still have to live for decades (if not unexpected). Is there anything more important than the establishment of a world outlook for people's life? However, most institutions currently lack such guidance mechanisms, two years of technical basic knowledge, one year of professional basic knowledge, and one year of professional knowledge. Therefore, the important function of industrial design education is also based on the popular type, training students' design thinking, this is to enable them to use infinity in the future, but also a true move to promote China's industrial design education.

The advantage of students majoring in engineering industry design lies in their good ability of gathering thinking, and their divergent thinking ability is insufficient. Therefore, the responsibility of engineering industry design education lies in cultivating students’ divergent thinking ability and comprehensive thinking ability, and exploring their potential artistic understanding and Creativity and its full play, this is also the purpose of strengthening the aesthetic education in engineering industry design education.

Second, the knowledge structure required by our country's industrial designers

As an industrial designer, it can be divided into three levels according to its role and status.

The most important thing for graduates to embark on the society is to work in the second and third categories, and the most is the third category. The most needed of these two types of work is the ability to model and function, and the ability to implement the function can only be limited during the school, because the school can only give guidance on the method of a few objects, and more Accumulated in practice. Therefore, more emphasis is placed on the cultivation of styling ability in schools. This is actually the cultivation of aesthetic thinking ability, which is lacking in engineering engineering design students. The general principle: start with the eyes first, then raise the height of the eye first, that is, first pay attention to improving the aesthetic ability, and gradually strengthen the ability to start.

1. Change viewpoint

The arts that are drawn may not necessarily understand art, but the artistic foundations are also weak with artistic comprehension and creativity. For students in the engineering industry designing profession, when formulating the syllabus, arranging courses, and teaching, the first thing that should be done is the enlightenment education of design thinking, rather than the basic skill training of painting. They should not be regarded as not ignoring the arts without painting, but only for enlightenment education in painting. They should fully mobilize their potential creativity.

2. Improve basic painting and three major components of teaching

Whether in the basic drawing or the three major component teaching, students are allowed to express themselves in their own way, and teaching is to teach them some of the most basic rules to help them analyze and think about some elements. , Comprehensive, to develop a wide range of modeling skills from both theoretical and practical aspects, so that “students will go beyond the boundaries of painting, but through those laws, they should be guided into integrated production activities” (Kandingski).

3. Improve teaching in other subjects

As China's industrial designers must have the problem of China's cultural background, so in the aesthetic education of engineering industry design education, we must not only instill the aesthetic thought of art, but also the sense of cultural aesthetics.

Throughout the entire teaching period, the arts and culture awareness has been continuously instilled into the professional education and supporting teaching so that students can strengthen the cultivation of aesthetic abilities in such an atmosphere from the beginning to the end and form a unique design thinking.
