Quickly calculate paper weight and tons of paper tips

When paper is shipped from the factory, it is generally measured in tons, and the printing plant uses orders as its unit. This involves the question of how many orders per ton of paper must be calculated. A batch of books were printed and transported from the printing factory to the bookstore. The number of books was known, but how many tonnages of vehicles were required to be transported, which involved the calculation of how many kilograms of weight per order were. In practice, such problems are often encountered. The above are just two examples.

Calculating the weight of paper and the number of ton per ton is more troublesome and prone to errors. Therefore, some comrades calculate the results item by item, and then list them into checklists and publish them in relevant professional newspapers for professional use.

Their calculation method is generally like this (take the 787×1092 specification as an example):

1, find the area of ​​each piece (square meters): 0.787 × 1.092m2

2, find the weight of each sheet (kg): 0.787 × 1.092 × weight ÷ 1000

3, the weight of each ream paper (kg): 0.787 × 1.092 × weight ÷ 1000 × 500

4, the number of paper per ton of paper: 1000 weight per ream


In order to change this tedious calculation, I made some transformations to Equation 4 above:

The number of paper per ton of paper = 1000 / the weight of each paper The weight of each paper = (0.787 × 1.092 × weight) ÷ (1000 × 500)

The above formula can be written as:

The number of paper per ton of paper = 1000/(0.787 x 1.092 x weight ÷ 1000 x 500)
= (1000 × 1000) / (0.787 × 1.092 × 500 × gram weight)
=(1000×1000)/(0.787×1.092×500)
= (2327.194195) × (1/g)
= 2327 / gram weight per ton of paper (kg) = 1000 / number of paper per ton of paper per ton of paper = 2327 gram weight

The above formula can be written as:

Weight of each ream (kg) = 1000/(2327 gram weight)
= (1000 x g)/2327
= (weight / 2327) × 1000


After such a transformation, a very useful constant is obtained: 2327.

2327 gram weight = number of grams per ton of paper weight 2327 x 1000 = weight per order of paper (kg)
The result calculated with 2327 is extremely accurate with an error of only 0.8 ‰.

As for the 850×1168 size, 880×1230 size, and 889×1194 size papers, the derivation method is exactly the same. The constants are 2015, 1848, and 1884 respectively.
