Basel promotes new HDPE package

Basel recently introduced a new type of high density polyethylene (HDPE) for packaging, marketed as the Hostalen GX40270.

The biggest feature of this new material is to meet the needs of the beverage bottle cap to be resistant to environmental stress cracking in the production of beverage packaging and the rapid production of assembled small beverage containers. Industrial trials have shown that the melting temperature of the Hostalen GX40270 resin is 40°C lower than that of the conventional high-density polyethylene grade, and its mold filling property is good, and the cooling time during molding is short, so the production speed is high. Basel's own test results show that the grade's resistance to environmental stress cracking is 12 times higher than the current standard HDPE grades, and thus has a good application prospect in beverage packaging production.
