Eastman developed two new polyesters

Recently, Eastman Chemical Company launched two more polyester grades. One is a glass-like but lightweight, shatter-resistant grade of Glass PobrITlel`EB 062, and the other new grade, Embrace High Yield, is a copolyester for shrink labels.

Glass Polymer EB 062 is dedicated to the development and production of extrusion blown thick walled products. With water-like transparency, chemical resistance and excellent processability, the light transmittance of the container processed by it is greater than 90%. The container is resistant to light, not easily broken, has good toughness, and can be made into a variety of colors, mainly used for Packaging cosmetics and personal hygiene care products. The label can also be made opaque bright white. Prevent ultraviolet light from irradiating the contents of the container.

Embrace High Yield is a new copolyester product for shrink labels that has many unique properties due to the formation of tiny air pockets when the crucible is equipped with a label. It has a microporous structure. Due to this structure, the relative density of the shrink label produced by the new material is less than 1.0 G/m 2 , which is very easy to separate from the recycled PET, and the microporous structure also makes the film feel soft.
