Madrid wasn’t just the capital of Spain — it was the epicenter of the interior design scene last month with Casa Decor 2017 ! From May 10th to June 18th, the city hosted designers, architects, and enthusiasts for an exciting lineup of exhibitions, meetings, and even an awards ceremony.
This year’s edition was extra special as it marked not only the 52nd anniversary but also the 25th year of the event! A perfect moment to celebrate design in style.
The event took place in one of Madrid’s most iconic buildings, a stunning example of early 20th-century architecture. The façade was beautifully decorated by Raquel Oliva and Fernando de Mauban as part of their project during Casa Decor 2017 .
One of the standout installations was "Tropical Living," designed by Blanca Hevia Fernandez and Beatriz Cerezo. This vibrant space captured the essence of the tropical trend, which is taking over spring and summer fashion and design. It’s clear that Casa Decor 2017 really knew what was hot.
To close out the month of inspiration, an awards ceremony was held on June 16th to honor the best work presented at the event. Industry leaders judged the entries, and visitors were even able to vote for their favorite designs. A real highlight of the season!
With Casa Decor 2017 , Madrid once again proved it can hold its own against design capitals like New York and London. We can’t wait to see what’s next from Spain’s creative minds!
