According to the lawsuit, Dr. Guan Wei explained that the red rosewood furniture and the arowana (a type of fish) photographed by the court a few months ago belonged to Jiangsu Yinning Guarantee Company. Due to poor management, the company failed to pay salaries to 39 employees, accumulating nearly one million yuan in arrears. Although the sale of the arowana brought in 70,000 yuan, it was not enough to cover the outstanding wages, prompting the court to decide to auction all of the company's red rosewood furniture.

Judge Wei mentioned that this was the second time the red rosewood furniture was being auctioned. During the first auction, all 33 pieces were sold as a single lot, with a total price of 1.478 million yuan. However, due to the large quantity, no one placed a bid. The court received several calls from potential bidders suggesting that the items be auctioned individually. As a result, the auction was split into separate lots, including desk and chair sets, flower stands, Duobao Pavilion, screens, shelves, double-door bookcases, 13 sets of Ruyi sofas, squat cases, folding screens, and two cabinets, totaling 33 individual items.
