The plastics department of General Electric of the United States has developed the Lexan DMX PC which is hard to scratch and hard to scratch. Because of its high transparency, it can be used in applications such as infrared lenses and fluorescent screens that require some degree of transparency.
The surface hardness of ordinary PC film is compared with pencil hardness, which is equivalent to 2B. DMX is equivalent to about 5 times the hardness of H. Therefore, its hardness value is higher than that of coated ABS and PC/ABS alloys. In addition, the hardness can be increased to 3H by coating with silicone and PMMA.
The original PC, to protect the appearance to prevent scratches, the surface needs to be coated. Also, since the production of VOCs (volatile organic compounds) is reduced, it is expected to reduce the pollution to the environment.
