Natura, Brazil, joins with Rexon Group to create environmentally friendly packaging materials

Natura is Brazil's leading cosmetic and personal care company headquartered in Sao Paulo, and has worked with Rexam distribution system to develop modern environmentally-friendly personal care packaging for its full line of deodorant brands, from men's “Sr N de Natura” (from Natura Mr. N) spray bottle begins. Rexroth uses its rich global resources to supply all of the components for this new high-consumption deodorant package: packaging design and engineering technology from France; pumping technology from the United States; and manufacturing and assembly from Brazil.

Renato Wakimoto, Natura packaging research and test manager, said: “The challenge we have given to Rexam is to achieve our specific goals for the project and it must be in line with our requirements. We want to preserve the personality of Natura products in deodorants. Market Our product packaging has become a unique symbol, but at the same time we must reduce environmental pollution, ensure that packaging is easy to reload, and optimize the packaging supply chain.” The solution provided by Rexam to Natura began with a few preliminary ideas in France. It was conceived that finally, in collaboration with the Natura product development team, the finalized design was a sleek and modern design characterized by a screw plug at the bottom of the bottle to complement the original retail product. The bottom of the bottle is sonic welded to the bottle, and the Rexam actuator and TNP pump are mounted just right inside the oval bottle cap. Such an overall shape brings a smooth and elegant appearance to the dark green packaging. This 100 ml bottle is injection molded and made of polypropylene. The Natura logo is printed on the surface of the container by screen printing. Future Natura deodorants will be filled with the same containers, but the packaging colors and decorations will be different.

In addition to France's Rexam engineers who contributed to Natura's packaging design, the company's Rexam TNP pump technology at Thomaston, Conn., USA, and the new Rexon production equipment from Brazil, supported by teams from Europe and the United States, also contributed. The new Rexam South American company became the first local manufacturer of this type due to the use of new custom machining and machine installations to produce packaging.
