To understand three-dimensional printing, we must first understand the types and principles of three-dimensional imaging.
1. Two-way display method
The two-way display method mainly includes the following:
(1) Stereoscopic imaging: The basic principle is to observe the left and right figures with the aid of a stereoscopic mirror to form a three-dimensional sense. This stereoscopic mirror is a special stereoscopic mirror, and the general stereoscopic mirror is not easy to produce stereoscopic vision.
(2) Color filter imaging: In color photography, the role of the color filter is to balance the color temperature.
â‘ Types of color filters: color conversion, color compensation (ie CC mirror), ultraviolet rays (ie UV mirror), soft lens, close-up lens, neutral gray filter and color filter for fluorescent lamp, etc.
â‘¡ Imaging principle: Take the two-color filter as an example. Its imaging principle is to print the left and right images on the same plane with red and blue ink, and then observe the printed image through the red and blue filters. Two-color filters are not widely used for two main reasons:
a. The wavelengths of the red and blue color filters are different, which can easily cause eyestrain.
b. Since the color filter and the ink are complementary to each other, the image observed with the color filter is black by the principle of subtractive color method. Therefore, this method is limited to black and white photographs and is not suitable for color prints. This limits the use of color filters to some extent.
(3) Polarized filter imaging: The imaging principle of the polarized filter is to project the left and right images on the same plane through the polarized filters that are orthogonal to each other, and the left and right eyes are also observed with the same polarized filters.
This method is used for the imaging of stereoscopic movies and stereoscopic TVs. They all require special glasses equipped with polarizing filters to observe. Because the imaging effect is good, the observation is convenient, and the application is relatively wide.
(4) Alternate segmentation imaging: Alternate segmentation imaging is to alternately present left and right images on the same plane, while shielding unnecessary parts, and viewing the parallax of the left and right images by two eyes to obtain a stereoscopic effect.
Alternate segmentation imaging has not been popular so far, for two reasons:
â‘ The afterimage effect will cause flash.
â‘¡The glasses used for masking are expensive.
2. Multi-directional display method
The multi-directional display method mainly includes the following two types:
(1) Parallax masking imaging: The principle of parallax masking imaging: the left and right eye images are divided by slits, and then the images are exposed on the film, followed by development, printing, and finally printing. You can see the stereoscopic image by placing the printed matter at the position where you took the picture and placing your eyes at the position where you placed the image.
(2) Cylindrical lens imaging: the lens of the cylindrical lens has a split-image effect. The lens method can continuously shoot within an effective angle, and a three-dimensional image can be obtained at a time, but it is very difficult to zoom in after shooting. Since the cylindrical lens has a long imaging exposure time and cannot take pictures of moving objects, it is necessary to take pictures while moving, and then combine the images in all directions through the cylindrical lens.
