Cartier equips the Rotonde de Cartier Astrotourbillon astronomical tourbillon watch with a new movement designed and manufactured by the brand's master watchmaker. The 9451 MC movement is equipped with a tourbillon frame, which includes an escapement system and a balance spring system.

Like the traditional tourbillon, the frame is driven by the third gear of the gear transmission system. Similarly, the pinion gear of the escape wheel rotates around the fixed second hand gear (the fourth gear in the gear train) to drive the entire escapement system.
