Temkin launches hook-and-loop closure candy packaging

[Chinese Packaging News] Temkin International has introduced an Aplix sealed bag for candy packaging that has a hook-to-hook recloseable system.

The pouches are made of heat-sealable polyethylene and food-grade materials and have micro-hooks that can be automatically matched so that they can be sealed without having to align the sides.

User-friendly zipper

Kito Temkin, director of international business development at Temkin, told reporters that Aplix is ​​a new product line and has just started to supply customers, so no company has yet placed an order.

He claims that "Aplix zippers are user-friendly and consumers can ensure they have closed the zipper in many ways."

Due to the nature of the hook and loop in the Aplix zip, you can not only feel the zip closure but also hear and see it closed.

Temkin added that the main advantage of using Aplix zip closures in the confectionery industry is that it can add value to packaging.

“It's easy to use, while the zipper gives the packaging a higher-end look and feel, which makes it unnecessary to compete with those zippers that are sealed by standard pressure.”

"It also applies to coated products, or contains other powders or granules that may leave the product stuck in the zipper area."

"But Aplix zippers may not be the best choice for products that require sealing or hermetic sealing."

In addition to the Aplix zipper, Temkin International also has a range of products including press-fit zippers, bilateral zippers and pocket zippers. The customers of these products are Purdy's chocolates, Jelly Belly, Fat Boy and Haggen-Daze.
