Deproteinized natural rubber developed successfully in Kunming

The researchers from the Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, cooperated with relevant units and completed the development of the first domestic deproteinized natural rubber in China. According to reports, the project enriches the product range of natural rubber and increases the added value of natural rubber. It is of great significance to promote the production technology level of natural rubber in China and promote the development of new products for rubber products.
Deproteinized natural rubber (DPNR) is a purified natural rubber with extremely low nitrogen content and ash content. It has low creep, low stress relaxation and low moisture absorption. It is used as special rubber in certain special engineering areas such as seals, Insulation mats, seismic and vibration absorption devices, marine rubber products. This glue has good fatigue resistance and dynamic thermal properties and can be used to produce aircraft tires and high-quality truck tires. Another important use of DPNR is to produce health care products. At present, DPNR's consumer market is mainly in Europe, the United States, Japan, and South Korea, while Malaysia is the only producer of DPNR.
According to reports, the project applies biochemical principles and methods, especially protein and enzyme technology, to practice a new set of natural rubber gluing process to obtain natural rubber with special properties. Through the research, the project completed the research on the optimal combination of proteases and other processing factors acting on natural rubber, affected the main process parameters of ash and the process control of low nitrogen and low ash, continuous steam solidification process of enzymatic hydrolysis latex, pilot design, equipment selection. Type and pilot base construction and batch processing of 1 ton of intermediate tests, testing of physical and chemical properties and vulcanization performance tests, and compared with DPNR in Malaysia and other research.
The project has developed DPNR's enzymolysis process formula, and realizes the process control of low-nitrogen and low-ash content of raw rubber. It has designed and perfected a continuous steam solidification device by itself, and successfully implemented the continuous steam solidification of enzymatic hydrolysis latex, the test glue's Physical and chemical properties and vulcanization properties are similar to those of DPNR in Malaysia, and the process time is significantly shorter than in Malaysia. The cost of the product is lower than that of similar products in Malaysia, and DPNR quality standards and quality control principles are proposed. At present, the project has been granted two authorized invention patents, and has been identified by an expert group organized by the Science and Technology Department of Yunnan Province.
