In the daily layout process using the Founder typesetting software, we generally convert the graphic file format to the TIFF format first, and then transfer it to the Founder typesetting software for typesetting and printing. However, in the actual typesetting process, because the AutoCAD graphics file format does not directly support the conversion and output of the TIFF format graphics file, the vector graphics format produced by the AutoCAD software cannot be directly imported into the file arranged by the Founder typesetting software during the actual operation process. Gives a lot of trouble to the normal typesetting work. In the past, we have also conducted various methods of conversion, such as: using CorelDRAW and other software for format conversion. Although these methods can convert the format of the graphics, the output graphics are somewhat different from the original graphics exported directly by AutoCAD. In particular, the outputs of the curved graphics often have more saw teeth, affecting the reduction rate and clarity of the graphics, and require a lot of expense. The time was artificially repaired, and the effect was not ideal, and the figure could not be guaranteed to be 100% restored (see Figure 1).
In view of the above problems, we have summarized a method of converting AutoCAD graphic format into TIFF graphic format in the actual work. This method is more realistic for the restoration of graphics, especially the restoration of the curve graphics, and has reached the direct insertion of the Founder typesetting file. The effect that the graphics are consistent with the original image is called the virtual print conversion method. The use of this print conversion method has achieved satisfactory results (see Figure 2).
The specific method of operation is as follows:
1. Download and install a virtual printing software developed by Adobe Company on the Internet. The software name is Bluwbeam pushbutton PDF. It supports the virtual printing of all application-generated documents into PDF format files.
After the installation is successful, the virtual printer is displayed in the system printer bar.
2. Start AutoCAD, open the file that needs to be converted, and follow the normal printing steps. After the print window appears, select the virtual printer. The virtual print output resolution is 300 to 4880 dpi, which can be flexibly selected by the user according to the graphics quality that needs to be converted. In the actual operation process, we have a large number of output comparisons. We believe that when the resolution is set to 1200 dpi, the output image quality is best.
After the confirmation, the file storage dialog box appears, select the path and save it.
3. Because the TIFF format file directly generated by the Bluwbeam pushbutton PDF virtual printer can not be directly transferred to the typesetting software, you must use Photoshop software, and then convert the virtual print generated PDF file to a resolution of 1200dpi TIFF format save. At this point, an AutoCAD format graphic is completely converted to TIFF format graphics, can be directly transferred to the Founder typesetting software for graphics and text.
The disadvantage of this operation is that the process of selecting parameters is more and the operation time is longer. The conversion time of each graphic is about 5 minutes.
It should be noted that, in order to maximize faithfulness to the original graphics, the format of AutoCAD graphics is converted into the format of a PDF image by the virtual printing method. First, the size of the graphics in the layout layout should be determined according to the requirements of the original document. Directly determined in AutoCAD and then converted, after importing the Founder typesetting, it should try to avoid the scaling, the scaling ratio is too large to affect the output quality of the graphics, generally controlled at about 5%.
