Tetra Pak, the world's leading supplier of food and beverage processing and packaging systems, recently announced the launch of Tetra Pak Aptiva aseptic packaging - the world's first sterile paper bottle.
Tetra Pak Aptiva aseptic packaging combines a paper bottle body with a plastic top and a screw cap, which is a very unique and innovative ambient temperature package. Tetra Pak Aptiva Sterile Bottles are specifically designed to replace plastic bottles. Compared to packaging lines for Aseptic Plastic Bottles (APET) and Aseptic High-Density Polyethylene Plastic Bottles (AHDPE), Tetra Pak can save up to 20% for beverage manufacturers. ~50% of operating expenses, calculated on the same capacity, can save more than half of total investment. Tetra Pak Aptiva sterile paper bottles are suitable for the fast growing portable ready-to-drink beverage market distributed through vending machines, convenience stores, supermarkets and other retail channels. The package has a distinctive semi-cylindrical body, with a wide, easy-to-drink opening at the top of the plastic and a screw cap that can be re-opened.
The Tetra Pak Aptiva sterile bottle can be produced on the newly designed Tetra Pak A5 filling machine, which produces both personal and family models. Both models can be used to package juice drinks, non-carbonated drinks and liquid dairy products. Personal models can produce 12,000 bags per hour, while family models can produce 10,000 bags per hour. The Tetra Pak A5 uses an innovative filling and forming system that uses familiar roll-based paper-based packaging materials and prefabricated plastic top components. The first step in the bottle forming and filling process is to seal the paper around the axis of the paper-based packaging material so as to form a very precise bottle body and then fuse it with the prefabricated top crown. In this system, the plastic double crowns were placed in two halves and placed on the mandrel wheel respectively, and the paper bottle body was placed on top crown and mandrel wheels. The induction sealing process firmly fuses the two parts together.
During the initial product promotion period, only some customers in Europe were able to obtain Tetra Pak sterile bottle. For fruit juice beverages and non-carbonated beverage products, 330 mL and 500 mL of 2 personal packaging specifications with transparent polypropylene crowns will be introduced in 2006; for liquid dairy products, translucent polyethylene top crowns will be introduced in 2007. 1000ml Tetra Pak Aptiva sterile paper bottle. Since 2008, the product will be launched around the world.
