After testing by experts, 18 books (books) were found to exist, and serious quality defects were reported, accounting for 0.74% of all books inspected, that is, the pass rate of the book printing quality of the exhibits at this Expo is 99.26%. It is worth noting that the print quality defects account for 11.11% of the total defects, while the binding quality defects are as high as 88.89%. Compared with the results of the book print quality inspection of the nineteenth book fair in 2009, the print quality defects accounted for 30.77% of the total defects, and the binding quality defects accounted for 69.23% of the total defects. Moreover, with the continuous improvement of printing technology and continuous improvement of equipment, printing companies have improved their ability and awareness to improve and ensure the management of printing quality, but this is also highlighting the problems in the process of post-press binding. While the printing quality continues to improve, it has been neglected after printing. Obviously, the binding quality has already dragged the printing quality. Why in a short period of one year, the printing quality has been improved, but after printing, it has stopped, or even has a tendency to retreat?
We all know that post-press binding has always been the least valued link in the industry. This goes back to the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China. There was an unwritten rule in the printing factory in the early years. The work of revision is better allocated to the printing workshop, and the printing machine is turned on. It is the "tradition" left over that year that has led to the most neglect in the entire printing process after years of printing. There are many domestic enterprises engaged in the manufacture of printing machinery, but there are very few who focus on post-press equipment. Most companies have their eyes on pre-press and printing.
The convening of this year's World Expo and Book Fair has sent us a signal that in the future, printing will gradually bid farewell to the traditional simple printing model and develop towards high-quality printing. The development of high-quality printing is not only a substrate made before printing, but also the ink in printing. The most important and fundamental thing is the binding after printing. Post-press expert Wang Huaizhu once said in an interview with Huicong Printing Network: "Post-press processing is often not valued in the entire process of publishing and printing. In fact, to print quality books, the communication between pre-press design and post-press binding is very important!"
