On March 7, the Southwest Guizhou Happy Sailing Outdoor Sports Association was officially established. Founded on March 16, 2015, this association is a voluntary group formed by outdoor enthusiasts who are passionate about Jeonju-based activities. As a non-profit, local social organization, it operates under the guidance of national laws, regulations, and policies, while promoting social ethics and community values.
The main goal of the association is to encourage a healthy, simple, and happy lifestyle through outdoor sports. It aims to promote the development of outdoor recreation, integrate sports with tourism and environmental protection, and raise awareness about the importance of nature conservation. The association also focuses on uniting outdoor enthusiasts, improving their skills, and organizing public welfare events such as environmental protection campaigns, charity activities, and support for students in need.
Under the supervision of the local sports bureau and civil affairs department, the association coordinates with sports management authorities to organize both regular and special outdoor sports competitions. It also conducts mass fitness activities and works on developing outdoor facilities across the region. In collaboration with the sports administration, it researches and establishes rules for outdoor sports competitions, and actively engages in exchanges with other associations inside and outside the province.
Through these efforts, the association hopes to showcase the natural beauty of Southwest Guizhou, attract more people to explore the area’s outdoor opportunities, and contribute to the growth of regional tourism. Currently, the association has grown to include over 300 dedicated members who share a common passion for the outdoors and a commitment to making a positive impact in their community.
