Where does the error of the 3D printer come from?

For ordinary users, the most important point of 3D printers is the printing accuracy. In order to eliminate the errors in printing, the error is reduced by reducing the accuracy and setting a very low layer height. So where did the error come from?

The 3D printer is not a single moving direction. In general, it is 3 dimensions: up and down, left and right, and front and back. Any movement of the wire is the friction between the parts, there will always be slight deviations;

For common consumables such as PLA and ABS, due to thermal expansion and contraction, printing errors will inevitably occur. Under normal circumstances, the error caused by thermal expansion and contraction of PLA is small;

3D printing is layer-by-layer printing, the smaller the layer thickness, the better the print details and surface smoothness;

At present, the nozzle diameter commonly used is 0.4 mm. If the layer thickness is set to a value of 0.4 mm or less, then the printing of each layer is pressed against the upper layer of consumables, thereby causing the printing consumables to melt and deform twice;

Most desktop-level 3D printers use a stepper motor with a minimum angular step of 1.8°, which inevitably causes errors in the distance traveled by the device;

Belt-driven 3D printers can cause 0.1-0.2mm errors.
