Therefore, it is difficult to change people's reading habits.
3) The concept of "free of charge on the Internet" is prevalent. If you provide e-books for free, I believe there is a lot of traffic. But if you need to charge, most visitors will lose.

From the perspective of Internet users, the emergence of the Internet not only facilitates people's communication and seeking information, but also brings confusion to the search for information. Online content is not only difficult to find, but can be found, but the object being sought no longer exists. At present, some search engines have a large number of such problems when searching literature. Part of the reason for this situation is due to the huge capacity of the Internet. According to statistics, there were about 76 million web pages on the Internet in 1996, which increased to 300 million web pages in the first half of 1999. And in the coming years, people are expected to increase 10 times. Therefore, controlling the content on the Internet is very difficult and absolutely necessary.
The first is the issue of copyright. In the past, publishing houses and authors only signed the agreement on flat-printing, and rarely authorized the “Internet electronic edition” authorization. Therefore, publishers often encounter a lot of undue trouble when they conduct online publishing. At this stage, the network legislation is still not perfect. For example, at present, there is no standardization of property rights in the copyright of Internet publishing, especially for the neighboring rights related to copyright in the network publishing (that is, the rights enjoyed by the communicators of the works). Clearly defined. It is understood that China’s “Internet Law” is being planned and it is believed that with the establishment and improvement of relevant laws, many problems that plagued online publishing will be solved.
Followed by the issue of the concept of publishers and readers. Many publishers have such fears that if books can be obtained from the Internet very cheaply and their copying is simple, it is bound to make a large number of people unwilling to purchase paper books. In fact, this worry is unnecessary. Because many readers are currently out of the traditional reading habits, they will not read the entire book on the Internet. They will only look at it roughly. Once they are interested in the work, they will inspire them to purchase paper books.
There is also a problem with the font. This is particularly prominent in our country. Chinese characters are simplified and traditional, and sometimes the internal codes of Chinese characters are different, which makes some books open on the Internet but they cannot be read.

At present, network printing is not favored because the display screen is small and unstable, and the reading is not convenient. The resolution is low and the resolution of the print product is not high enough and is not beautiful enough. At the same time, the network system is not perfect, and the bandwidth is currently transmitting large amount of information files. Difficulty, the transmitted information will be lost, there are consistency problems with different devices, computer viruses and related laws and regulations are not perfect, and copyright protection is difficult.
Since Internet publishing uses the Internet as a transmission medium and does not provide a paper carrier, readers are required to have hardware devices such as a computer or a PDA. At the same time, due to the limitations of the accuracy of the display screen and the damage to the eyesight, it has hindered the popularization of digital books to some extent.

The above issues are the crux of hindering the development of online publishing, and we need to gradually overcome them. However, online publishing has occupied a place in today's publishing industry and will certainly play a greater role in the 21st century.
