High Melt Strength (HMS) PP

HMS PP can be widely used in the fields of thermoforming, extrusion coating and physical foaming. Dow's newly developed PP grades have 20 times higher melt strength than conventional PP. HMS PP spins three times more than traditional PP. In addition, it also has good low temperature impact performance and high heat distortion temperature.

The Inspire112 is a MFR 0.4g/(10min) blown film HMS PP grade. The film produced with this grade of PP had a drop weight impact strength of 150 g and a 2% secant modulus of 861.2 MPa. Used for liquid standing bags with good transparency; for heavy bags with good puncture resistance, melting point above 160 °C; used for high pressure heat bags with high heat resistance. InspireD114.01 is a new HMS PP grade for blown film and sheet extrusion with MFR 0.5 g/(10 min); this grade PP has better rigidity, heat resistance and machinability than polyethylene film. , Creep resistance, puncture resistance and toughness; Films with a thickness of 2 mm made therefrom have a drop weight impact strength of 120 g and a tensile modulus of 1267.8 MPa. The PP complies with the FDA hygienic requirements for cooking bags and has considerable potential for melt-thermoforming in plastic trays, reducing sagging and shortening the molding cycle. Inspire D113.01 is MFR0.9g/(10min) impact copolymer grade. This grade PP has excellent low temperature performance and wide processing range for profiled extrusion (such as fiber core tube), flexural modulus 1019.7 MPa, with Uncracked notch impact behavior at room temperature [5].
