When using the Chinese version of InDesign CS2, we will find that in the font menu, the names of the various PureType fonts in the Hanyi font library have become garbled. Although we can still see the glyphs of various fonts in CS 2, we can't choose the fonts or use them, but it is not very convenient after all.
The reason for this problem is that the compatibility between Hanyi's TureType font and the existing Mac OS X 10.4 operating system is somewhat imperfect.
After many friends reported this problem to Hanyi, Hanyi quickly proposed a solution. There are three ways:
1) Use Hanyi's latest OpenType font. Of course, these fonts will not have garbled characters, and many functions that are not available in TrueType fonts are added, which is very convenient to use. At the same time, OpenType fonts are also the future development trend of computer fonts.
However, the shortcoming now is that the OpenType font provided by Hanyi is only a prototype, and it is not yet perfect. At the same time, the number of fonts is very small, only 30, which is obviously not enough for friends engaged in design and production. Hanyi is now doing a feasibility analysis and plans to launch a large number of OpenType fonts in the near future. But after all, it is the future that cannot solve the problems before us.
2) Using the newly launched TureType font from Hanyi, it has solved the garbled problem very well. The disadvantage is that the existing TureType fonts in our hands are obsolete.
3) Use the font patch program released by Hanyi, named "HYUpgrade2005". Can effectively solve the garbled characters of the previous TureType fonts.
However, after using this patch, my friends found such a situation: in other software, the problem of garbled fonts has been solved, but in InDesign CS2 Chinese version, it is still garbled. The reason for this lies in your installation steps. This software requires you to install Hanyi fonts and patches first, and then install Adobe CS 2. Not the other way around.
However, many friends have already installed Adobe CS 2 on their Apple computers, and now if they are asked to remove CS 2 and reinstall it, it is really a time-consuming and laborious work.

1) First download the patch program of Hanyi font;
2) Open your user resource library, find these two files and delete:
Users / <user name> /Library/Caches/Adobe/TypeSpt/AdobeFnt10.lst
Users / <user name> /Library/Caches/Adobe/Fonts/AdobeFnt10.lst
3) Run the patch program "HYUpgrade2005" of Hanyi fonts;
4) Restart your computer.
