Implementation of green packaging initiatives will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 120,000 tons per year

In order to reduce the impact of corporate resource consumption on the environment and increase resource utilization, China Mobile has recently promoted new measures for energy saving and emission reduction - "green packaging." This measure will enable China Mobile to reduce its carbon dioxide emissions by 120,000 tons per year.

According to the relevant person in charge of China Mobile, "Green Packaging" is a reusable logistics system, including packaging, logistics, recycling and other important links, designed to reduce the heavy use of wooden boxes in traditional transportation methods. At the same time, establish a universal, efficient and economical packaging and transportation standard to ensure the reusable packaging. “Green Packaging” adopts a configurable turnover shelf, emphasizing moderate packaging, appropriate protection and repeated use of packaging materials, breaking through the traditional concept of material recycling cycle, with the characteristics of environmental protection, simple packaging, uniform packaging standards, and efficient processes.

It is reported that according to China Mobile's one-year procurement of communication products packaging statistics, promotion of "green packaging" will reduce its annual consumption of 57,000 cubic meters of timber, which is equivalent to 670 hectares of deforestation. The calculations show that if the global mobile operators use the "green packaging" conservation plan, they will save 640,000 cubic meters of wood annually, which is equivalent to cutting down 7,500 hectares of forest.
