Printing operators often encounter such problems: the substrate (paper) sticks together due to static electricity on the surface, causing two or more sheets to be sucked up by the feeder nozzle at the same time, causing the feeder to stop. Electrostatic charges are the result of electron insufficiency (positive charge) or electron excess (negative charge) on the substrate surface. In the process of paper processing and transportation, because the environment is dry, the water content of the paper is low, and static electricity is easily generated. In principle, an environment with relative humidity of 40-42% is more suitable for paper storage.

Solution:

• The moisture content of the paper should be controlled between 45-55% so that static electricity decreases with the increase of water content until it disappears.

• It is best to install air conditioners in the printing shop, and the relative humidity should be controlled at 50-55%. It is worth noting that: in the cold season, in the heating plant, the air humidity will drop due to air conditioning and heating

• Anti-static equipment such as static electricity bars and electrostatic blowing can effectively reduce the power of static electricity. Humidification equipment can increase the conductivity of air and prevent electrons from accumulating on paper.
