The microscope can check whether there are sand holes inside the casting

Customer questions:

I recently encountered cast iron FCD45 parts, which were sent to electroplating after processing, but after electroplating, there was a case of acid rust on the processed hole wall, because of the large number, plus the foundry was only willing to be responsible for the partial loss of blank The processing fee should be absorbed by our company. Is this reasonable? Isn't this caused by a problem in the foundry's quality control? Moreover, we don't have the equipment to check if there are sand holes inside the casting.

If there is any way to save these bad acid-spitting products, is there any way? Is there any way or pre-treatment, so that the casting will not spit acid after plating?

My casting blank weighs about 4.3kg

My parts are galvanized.

For those parts that can spit acid after electroplating, there are indeed very small holes in the hole wall of the processing hole. I used a carving machine to grind away the acid spit, and as a result some of them actually broke larger holes or depressions Go on.

Speaking and dimension answer:

1. The base tissue of FCD450 is almost completely fertilized iron, where is the bull's eye tissue ?! Under the metallurgical microscope, the corroded ferrite iron is white, and the bollardite is a layer of Xueming carbon iron and ferrite iron. The shape of the tissue is black. According to past experience, the content of boron iron above FCD550 can easily see the bull's eye tissue.

2. The shrinkage of nodular cast iron is large in cast iron, and the appearance of shrinkage holes is also easy and ordinary, so the foundry that can produce FCD in the early days represents its technology and QC is the best foundry

3. If it is a shrinkage hole problem, it is probably not saved. With thick copper electricity, I have heard that there is a chance, but it is necessary to consider the cost

4. If it is a miniature hole, plating after thick copper plating should be able to save, but if the hole is too large, it cannot be saved.

5. The problem of processing fees, a foundry will not help you out, you can ask the people of the foundry to go there with you to talk about processing, and share the three parties!

6. It is recommended to make it clear that within a few% of the defect (generally 5%), whether it is processing or casting, the cost of processing and casting's respective absorption is higher than this. Let's discuss it again!

7. If this is still not possible, deduct the payment for the casting (remember to take the mold away first) and change it to another one!

8. Ultrasonic flaw detection, the detection of large shrinkage holes at specific points, but if it is a large range or micro shrinkage holes, it will be difficult! X-RAY is easy to use, but the cost is too high!
