In a recent customer demonstration event, Battenfeld Extrusionstechnik exhibited a complete cast film coextrusion line with a high-speed main extruder and matching lower auxiliary equipment, which was then shipped to the buyer. , a manufacturer of thermoformed packaging products. On the first day of the show, the production line produced PS film at a production rate of 1,400 kg/h and on the following day it produced PP films at a production rate of 1,100 kg/h.

The new extruder has a screw diameter of 75mm and a process length of 34D. Its design stems from the concept of BEX engineers that the performance of the machine depends on the screw speed and not the size of the machine. This provides a lot of benefits for processors. A series of extensive tests conducted in cooperation with raw material suppliers and a German user showed that a variety of polymers such as PS, PP, PLA, ABS and PET can be processed into high quality films. Since the melt temperature reached is still within the normal range, the quality of the extruded product is improved by shortening the residence time.

Compared with the conventional extruder with the output of this high-speed 75 extruder, the new production line consumes less resources in the production process, has a small footprint, is easy to operate, and is easy to maintain and maintain. In addition, this type of machine also achieves a very short color change or reloading time. Another key feature is that its energy consumption is greatly reduced. For some polymers, energy savings of up to 25% can be achieved compared to conventional extruders.
