In the art world, sculpture is a highly artistic and complex work. But recently, a graphic designer and pop artist named "PacoRaphael" used 3D printing technology to complete the visualization and specialization of a group of sculptures. The theme of this group of sculptures is "deer", PacoRaphael hopes to use this group of sculptures to call on people to protect animals.
According to 3D Tiger, PacoRaphael graduated from The Hague University in Amsterdam. In 2011, he saw a documentary about deer, so he got creative inspiration, hoping to produce a series of dynamic sculptures. Conceptually, Raphael wanted to depict the innocence and elegance of the deer in a more lively way.
"Deer is a very pure, gentle and noble animal. If you define a deer as a vibrant city, wouldn't it be New York? Therefore, I made five different versions of sculptures based on different deer. "PacoRaphael said in an interview.
At the beginning, PacoRaphael tried various 3D scanning software and 3D printers to find the most suitable and efficient production system. Subsequently, he participated in a series of 3D printing activities, visited 3D printing companies, and determined the ultimate partner. It is reported that he chose the platform i.materialise and formulated the final design plan.
After that, the 3D designer of i.materialise used ZBrush, Pixologic and other digital engraving software to design the 3D model of the deer sculpture. Initially, the 3D model designed by PacoRaphael was 30 cm high, and was printed using paint resin to smooth the surface of the final model. But after that, he will continue to use more colors to complete the painting.
Throughout the process, Raphael realized the great potential of 3D printing technology. Therefore, he came up with the idea of ​​using a 3D printer to create a life-size deer statue. After Raphael may make more wonderful designs, but 3D printing technology will play a huge role in it.
