Several Problems Should Be Noticed in Electro-aluminum Hot Stamping

With the continuous development of society and economy, exquisite printed matters such as product advertisements, samples, trademarks, and book covers often require the use of electro-aluminum hot-stamping technology, which makes the product golden and eye-catching and will never fade, giving people a feeling of beauty. However, if the technical operation and the process are not properly controlled, the aluminum foil stamping products will also have some drawbacks that will affect the quality of the products. Therefore, the following problems should be noted in the electro-aluminum hot stamping process:

1. It is necessary to turn off the technology of a good plate assembly. Before sticking, clean the surface of the bottom metal plate with the electric heating device and the back of the zinc plate separately. Use a heat-resistant glue to evenly brush and glue the appropriate area of kraft paper on the back of the plate, and then attach the kraft paper. The printing plate is glued on the electric floor with glue and pressed tightly. When fixing the bottom plate, the filling material should be made of metal materials, such as aluminum strips, empty lead, etc., and should not be heated and easily deformed. In addition, for the bolt used for fastening, iron plate locks are also used to prevent the deformation of the base plate due to thermal deformation, resulting in overprinting.

2. Care should be taken to control the stamping temperature. For the general situation, the hot stamping area is relatively large, the electric heating temperature is relatively higher. On the contrary, the electric heating temperature is lower. The specific situation depends on the actual temperature of the plate on the hot plate and the appropriate temperature that the aluminum foil can withstand. If the stamping temperature is too high, the product is prone to smudging, poor brightness and blistering. On the contrary, it will cause hot stamping, hair and other quality defects. The electrothermal temperature can be controlled between 120-180°C as appropriate.

3. The relationship between stamping pressure and the adhesion of aluminum foil must be accurately known. When the temperature has reached a moderate level, but the pressure is insufficient, it will produce a fade, should be carefully adjusted pressure, so that when the hot stamping does not fade, good fastness and attachment requirements. Conversely, there will be a fade condition, so check the stamping temperature and adjust the transformer to better control the desired temperature for the desired stamping effect.

4. It should be stamped with the ink layer dry and firmly attached. When the printed ink layer is not yet completely dry, the ink layer is eagerly stamped when it is not firmly attached, and the pull-and-deink layer is prone to failure, so that the hot stamping is not possible. Therefore, the underprint ink layer should not be too thick, so as to avoid the phenomenon of poor hot stamping, hair paste and the like. In addition, it should also be noted that when the surface of the undercoat ink layer is hot stamped, proper consideration should be given to reducing the temperature of the stamping so that the effect of the stamping can reach a desired quality.

5. Electro-aluminum characteristics differences and what they should pay attention to. What is the performance of anodized aluminum, which can be identified by hand rubbing or using transparent adhesive tape sticking method. Such as the color layer is easy to fall off, indicating that the aluminum is loose and easy to hot stamping, such anodized aluminum is suitable for large area hot stamping. On the contrary, tighter hot stamping is suitable for small and medium layouts, and it is suitable for hot stamping at low temperatures. The use of anodized aluminum should grasp the principle of first producing hot stamping in order to ensure good results. Its storage period should not exceed two years, and should pay attention to moisture, heat, pressure and sun protection during storage.

6. Put a good technical process to prevent hot stamping from failure. When printing the background color, it is necessary to accurately control the amount of the desiccant to be added and discharged so as to prevent the excessive amount of dry oil from causing the ink layer of the printed product to be crystallized. To properly grasp the thickness of the ink layer, as far as possible to do deep ink thin printing, that is, when the hot stamping ink layer pull the drawbacks. In the transfer of ink, non-drying oils such as engine oil, kerosene, dry oil, and corn flour should be avoided as far as possible so as not to cause hot stamping, and the surface of the stamping layer can be wiped with anhydrous alcohol to destroy the oil layer. Or wax, to enhance the adhesion of aluminum foil.

In summary, the correct understanding of the technical essentials of electro-aluminum, and careful attention to the various problems that may occur in the hot stamping process, a careful analysis, the use of appropriate technological measures, will be able to better guarantee the quality of hot stamping, improve products The added value.
