The thermoplastic rubber SIS and SEBS products developed by Sinopec Baling Petrochemical Company passed the technical appraisal in February 2004 and were the first to achieve industrialized production in China.
SIS has both rubber and plastic properties. Its distinctive feature is its strong adhesion. It is the main raw material for hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesives, coatings, and solvent-based adhesives. Its products can be used as packaging bags, double-sided tapes and oil-resistant labels. At present, the company has an annual production capacity of 5,000 tons and is mainly sold to the southeast coastal areas.
SEBS has excellent aging resistance, both plasticity and high elasticity, can be processed without the need for vulcanization, scrap can be reused, widely used in the production of high-grade elastomers, adhesives and so on. At present, the plant has an annual production capacity of 300 tons, and the products are mainly sold to Fujian, Shanghai and Zhejiang.
