Shenzhen beauty 3D printing shadowless shoes hollow high-heeled hidden mysterious machine

In July 2015, it was reported that Shenzhen-based artist and tech enthusiast Beautymaker SexyCyborg made headlines by using **3D printing to** create an inner-luminous "light skirt." Now, she’s back with a new project—3D printed high heels. These aren’t just any shoes; they’re designed to discreetly carry a penetration testing kit, blending fashion with cybersecurity. A photo of the shoes is shown below:

The inspiration for the project came from the American TV series *Mr. Robot*. “I know not everything I’ve learned is entirely accurate, but it sparked my curiosity,” she explained. “I’ve always been comfortable with command-line interfaces and remote server management, especially when working on my website. I’ve noticed that many so-called ‘hackers’ use tools that are actually standard for IT professionals—just without a GUI.” This led her to dive deeper into penetration testing and find creative ways to apply it in real life. “Assembling a test kit isn’t hard,” she said. “What’s rare is how to use it in the real world. So I asked myself—what if I wanted to run a penetration test on a business? A handbag is too obvious, and leaving a phone at the gate is something even basic security measures would catch.” She realized that her usual clothing didn’t have enough pockets, so she came up with the idea of a hollow, high-heeled shoe. The design, named “Shadowless Shoes,” was inspired by the legendary martial arts master Huang Feihong’s “Foshan No Shadow” foot technique. Another image of the design is here:

The shoes were all created using a **3D printer**, and she used TinkerCAD for the design. “I had to set the print layer thickness to 0.3 mm, which makes it look a bit rough,” she admitted. The material used was PLA with a 20% fill rate, and a lot of support structures were needed. She noted that the weight is similar to regular shoes and can support her weight, though she didn’t say much about comfort—though it's definitely something to consider. Here's another view of the finished product:

So, how do these shoes actually work? Each one has a hidden compartment that can be opened without removing the shoe. All you need to do is insert a penetration testing kit inside. The tools are all hacking-related, but she chose not to go into detail. “It’s more about making it cool than actually doing anything illegal,” she said. “It’s just a fun way to merge art, technology, and cybersecurity.”
