(1) Visual recognition
The identification of wood by experience alone is a way of identifying in the perceptual stage, because it has not yet reached the stage of rationality, so it is likely to be misplaced.
(2) Separate search
1. This is the search method that should be used for a long time;
2. The features of the search are arranged in order from the stability of the features;
3. Each pair of features consists of a pair of contradictions;
4. In use, select one of each pair of features that matches the feature to be inspected, and then select one of the pair of new contradictions contained in the feature, and after successively halving, the identification result is finally obtained. The advantage is that the search table is only a few leaf papers, and the collection is convenient; the cost is low; it is very suitable in the case of few tree species. The disadvantage is that the preparation is very time-consuming and laborious. The more trees and the more difficult the problems are; the modification of the features and the increase or decrease of the tree species require major changes and even reinventions; the retrieval must be carried out item by item according to the established procedures.
(3) Perforated card method
Each tree species requires one to several cards with round holes and one corner missing.
(4) Electronic computer search method:
In essence, it is an electronic computer instead of the artificial punch card method; the digital code is used to represent the features stored in the computer; the characteristics of the retrieved wood (once or several times) are input into the computer, and the search results are successively selected, and finally the result is obtained. . The advantage is that it has all the advantages of the perforated card retrieval method; the speed of the perforated card method is significantly faster, and the missed detection due to the falling of the card can be avoided. The disadvantages are: high equipment costs; the preparation of search procedures must have expertise in computer science.
