Another factor that affects the reproduction of color image tones is that in the wet press wet printing state, the first color ink film printed on the paper will be sequentially printed when overprinting the second color, the third color, and the fourth color The rubber roller sticks away a part of the ink, this phenomenon can be on the fourth color rubber roller. Only the third color ink is least sticky, and only the fourth color ink film is 100% retained on the paper. It can be seen that the third color sequence and the fourth color sequence constitute two critical color sequences in the printing color sequence. Practice has proved that with the same set of printing plates, the same paper, the same series of inks, the same type of offset press, the same operator, the same temperature and humidity, under all other conditions are the same, due to different printing color sequence, printing The color effect of the printed matter will not be the same. In terms of four-color printing, the printing color sequence can be combined into 24 kinds. If light or brick colors are added, there are more combinations of overprint color sequence. Generally, there are 3 types of overprint color sequences that are most commonly used in actual production. From the analysis of these 3 types of overprint color sequence tables, all follow the following principles:
1. For the convenience of color change;
2. Poor paper smoothness, coarse ink pigments, poor transparency, and strong hiding power are placed in the first color sequence;
3. Putting black in the first color order is for accurate overprinting;
4. The color with small ink volume is printed first, and the color with large ink volume is overprinted;
5. Overprint after good ink transparency.
The above principles are all considered from the factors of paper, ink and color change convenience, but the benefits of color tone restoration are less considered. There are three major standards for measuring the quality of offset color printing: first, tone reduction; second, tone reproduction; and third, overprint accuracy (that is, high image clarity). In addition to having a close relationship with the plate making, the reduction of color tone is also related to the overprint color sequence of the printing.
