According to a survey of 70 countries in the world from the Industrial Research Center of Milan (CSIL), global furniture trade is expected to reach 128 billion in 2014, compared with the total global furniture trade of US$124 billion in 2013. The increase in 2014 is expected to reach 3.2%.
CSIL conducted a detailed analysis of the furniture trade in 70 major countries in the world in The World Furniture Prospects 2014. According to the summary of the report, the furniture trade indicators of these 70 countries from 2013 to 2014 have exceeded the peak value before the 2008 recession – $117 billion.
The report examines a number of furniture producing countries such as China, Germany, Italy, Poland and the United States, as well as major areas of furniture consumption, such as Western Europe, North America, Asia, South America, Central Europe and Eastern Europe.
The report pointed out that the United States, Germany, France, the United Kingdom and Canada are the main importers of the world furniture trade. Both the United States and Canada have reached or exceeded their pre-recession import levels, but Europe has not yet achieved this goal due to the slow economic recovery.
